Our Approach

Students are given strong foundation of social, emotional, physical and academic skills to become productive learners, effective communicators and responsible students. We lay stress on activity based integrated learning.

  •  Multisensory thematic, play way approach is followed to broaden the outlook of the child, enabling him/her to become a keen observer and ‘out of the
    box thinker’.
  •  Our enriched curriculum is designed to capitalize on each child’s latent talents and gives opportunity to explore and learn.
  •  Emphasis is also laid on developing language, visual and listening skills.
  •  Every child’s preferred learning style -Audio, Visual, and Kinesthetic is kept in mind while designing activities to cater to individual differences and provide
    optimal learning for all.
  •  Our Curriculum offers opportunities to students for hands-on exploration and discovery that foster confidence as well as help them to develop critical
    thinking skills. The Curriculum is based on objectives for development and learning. These objectives are fully aligned with the formative years of child
    development and our learning framework. Our curriculum is designed to offer individualized instruction and meet the needs of every learner, with a
    particular focus on English language development.
  •  The Syllabus sets out six areas of learning covering students’ physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Each of these areas include several
    aspects of learning which aims at holistic development of each child.
    • 1. Personal, social and emotional development (PSED)
    • 2. Communication, language and literacy (CLL)
    • 3. Mathematical development (MD)
    • 4. Knowledge and understanding of the world (KUW)
    • 5. Physical development (PD)
    • 6. Creative development(CD)

PRE-PRIMARY

Here we concentrate on teaching the toddler important skills such as taking turns, listening to others, grasping, taking instructions, interacting and helping one another with the same age group can make a major impact on overall communication skills of the students.

We at DPS Ghatkesar inculcate important qualities like team-work, self help, mental development which help in motor and cognitive development. The objective of these early period training is to give the child necessary guidance and feel confident enough about himself/herself, enjoy creative tasks, can take simple decisions and enjoy the learning process easily, playfully without any stress.


PRIMARY

These early years of child's education are vital for developing their critical thinking and problem solving skills and, as such, we have framed a curriculum in which our young students feel empowered to ask questions, safe to meet challenges head on, and accompanied on their journey towards reaching their full potential.

The CBSE Curriculum adpoted by DPS Ghatkesar, strives for balance between the search for understanding, the acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, the development of positive attitudes and the opportunity for positive action. This is a time to instil a love of learning that children will carry with them throughout their lives. Our small class sizes permit our teachers to tailor their lessons to suit individuals' abilities and learning styles. The positive and supportive environment throughout our school and the personal attention each student receives form the basis of difference and are cornerstones of our success.

We follow child centric approach/ methodology towards children which nurtures not only a knowledge interface but also inventiveness in the student.

Students will graduate from Primary school with a solid academic foundation upon which to build and the confidence and curiosity to strive for ever greater academic heights.


MIDDLE SCHOOL

Our Middle school programme provides increased focus on core skills such as reasoning, analysis, research and leadership, Which are fundamental to students' Continued success Our teachers are not only watchful over academic results but also provide pastoral care assisting students' emotional development on their path towards the later stages of their education Again, our small class sizes foster a truly supportive and personalised environment that is critical during these decisive years.

The journey from primary school classes to the next stage in schooling, raises new challenges in a student's academic career. On reaching their middle school level, children participate in a cyclic academic schedule of learning, assimilation and retention by way of regular tests that strengthen the foundation of knowledge acquired in primary classes and forms a bridge to senior school curriculum. In these more senior stages, our students demonstrate an increasing openness and learning and assist their development through cultural projects, exploratory programs. Students participate in project-based activities and in-group presentations. They learn to apply critical reasoning and strategies in problem solving. Students have the opportunity to participate in leadership activities and structured classes.
